Logwood,
Cutch, Fustic, Quercitron bark extract, Weld, Madder, etc., are Natural/vegetable
mordant dyes, which were applied using suitable mordents which include
Iron, Copper, Chromium, Aluminum, etc. The use of these and other Natural/Vegetable
dyes like Awobama, Akalbir, Brazilwood extract, Jackwood, Myrobalan, Kapila,
Kamala, Saffron, Turmeric, Weld lake and Lac on silk has been reported
in literature.

mainly mordent dyes.

Mordent dyes including both natural and synthetic dyes. The natural mordent
colors are obtained from the extract of Leaves, Barks, Trunks, Roots,
Flowers, Fruits or Berries of large number of Shrubs, Plant and Trees.
In fact as many as 500 plant species have been identified as useful sources
of Natural/Vegetable dyes.
The Dyeing process with natural/vegetable dyes is more laborious and more
time consuming for natural effect. The end product is near to nature;
as such its appearance may not have artificial glittering.
